Editor: Cora/ Image source: Etsy Fashion, Faith Popcorn The “Nostradamus of Marketing” has launched the prediction of some biggest trends set on 2017, which will change the future of our world in every industry gradually. “Smalling” trend is one of the major trends Popcorn predicted. People are looking for something that is unique, handmade, tiny while the technical and internet improvement has been played a primary role in today’s society. Futurist Faith Popcorn: Retrieved from https://lbbonline.com/news/the-5-trends-marketers-cant-afford-to-ignore-in-2017/ "Big is no longer trustworthy. Consumers are shrinking their networks. Brands need to make themselves seem smaller to earn consumers' trust". -Faith Popcorn How does Fashion Industry adapt the “Smalling” trend? An interesting phenomenon of DIY has been more apparent than others on Pinterest and Etsy Fashion. Especially, if you take a look on Etsy Fashion, it both advocates DIY concept like “Levi’s renewed vintage denim”, “tees bleached and renewed tie dye” and promotes independent designers online as well. Also, sometimes, Etsy offers step by step tips on how to make clothing or decorations by yourself. This sort of interesting alteration is changing the Fashion Industry from customizing their styles standing out of the crowd instead of having similar styles in fast fashion. DIY is making the surprise for our market and worth trying out. “I don’t want to wear something on my body that hurts the environment or the people in it. It’s hard to know what is good and what is bad on the high street and equally hard to find fashionable or youthful ethical clothing. It shocks me that even today only 1% of cotton produced in the world is Fair Trade and organic. I decided to work with People Tree to put together a collection I could be proud of in terms of both ethics and design.” --Emma Watson for People Tree Is it easier to go ethical shopping today? The answer is "Yes". One of the new trends for 2017 is sustainable and ethical fashion among with the key colour- lime green. Many labels and fashion brands have realized that people are willing to buy ethical clothes if they could combine ethics and aesthetics together. One of my favourite brand is Patagonia that is certified by the third party of fair trade organization, using organic cotton for activewear, and also adopting recycled materials as the very first brand. Canada to me means another "home", my friends, family, loved ones are all here. Canada also means freedom of speech and diverse culture to me. Infuse Humber At Infuse team, we celebrate Canada Day by wearing only red and white. We enjoy dressing-up with fashion in such a great group. Cora Infuse Magazine PosterEditor: Cora | Poster Design: Cora Organization: Infuse Humber This is the poster designed for Infuse Magazine, new creative infuse members in Fashion Arts program at Humber College. The poster I designed took inspiration from the background image, back cross body shape with high contract colour scheme attracting eyeballs. I decide to use various red lines cross each other in order to match with background key factor. Red circle as another element separately designed in the page to create rhythm and keep consistence for the integrated poster. White thin lines is to enrich detailed design and break its symmetric feeling.
